Project Goals:
This video was to show that everyone can make robots that can change the world. I did. I decided to build a robot that can save lives by detecting and disposing of IED’s (Improvised Explosive Devices). This way, no lives are endangered.
I am dedicating this movie to my dad, because he was the one that inspired me to build my robot. He had a REALLY close encounter with one of these bombs. I have included this video here to show exactly how awful one of these killers can actually be. I researched the army’s robots for this cause and realized that my robot does the exact same task for a lower price, and is much more accessible.
Anybody can do what I did; anybody can build a robot that can change the world. When I was in 6th grade, we were asked to write a paper on what we wanted to accomplish in 8th grade. I said I wanted to win the robotics regional’s.
With the help of my team and mentors, I did just that. It just shows that with motivation, anybody can build a good robot. I am very thankful for Mrs. Reynolds for mentoring me, my team for everything they did, my family for support, and most of all, Mr. Reggie Clark, for all he does everyday for the students of Palm Desert Middle.
